We have introduced a standard triage questionnaire for all appointments and we ask you to wear a mask when you arrive. Temperature checks are undertaken on all patients. Our clinic setting is completely sanitised between patients and we only use one-time equipment during our procedures.
As independent Hearing Aid Audiologists, we can offer unbiased advice on products from the world’s leading manufacturers and all hearing tests are carried out in a sound booth by a fully qualified Hearing Aid Audiologist. In addition, we provide ongoing aftercare service that we believe is second to none.
Better Hearing which is located in the Salus Medical Clinic in Swords, is owned and operated by Emmanuel Kirby Dip H.A.A. F.I.S.H.A.A. Emmanuel is a fellow of the Irish Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists and holds a qualification in Hearing Aid Audiology from University College Dublin and also certification concerning Ear wax removal by both micro suction and irrigation. Better Hearing is a fully owned Irish business with a policy of supporting local suppliers and services whenever possible.
If eligible, the Department of Social and Family Affairs, will pay a PRSI grant of €1000.00 for a pair of hearing aids. The need for a patient to contribute towards the purchase of hearing aids has now been removed.
As Hearing Aid Audiologists we are registered with the Department of Social and Family Affairs. The Department of Social and Family Affairs have a treatment benefit scheme which is available to eligible patients and dependent spouses who have full PRSI contribution cover. We offer a full repair service for all makes of hearing aids from all of the major manufacturers.
Simple repairs (wax filters, new receivers etc) and cleaning can be done on-site. More complex repairs will be sent back to the relevant manufacturer. It is best to book an appointment if a repair is needed on the spot. Or you can drop in your hearing aids for repair, and I'll call and let you know what needs to happen.
